Emily's Dry Rub BBQ Cornish Hen

1 Cornish hen
2 tsp cumin powder
2 tsp tumeric powder
2 tsp rosemary powder
2 tsp fennel seed
1 pinch saffron
1 tsp white pepper
1/2 tsp salt
1 tbsp olive oil

The recipe:
1. Combine cumin, tumeric, fennel seed (crushed), rosemary, saffron (crushed), pepper, and salt in a large dish.
2. Clean Cornish hen, and cut it down the belly to flatten it out.
3. Pat the hen dry, and rub both surfaces with the spice mixture.
4. Poke hen skin with fork all over, and rub some more.
5. Let the meat marinate for 2 hours.
6. BBQ it, or cook it in a convection oven.
7. While cooking, baste the skin side with olive oil.
8. Cook it total 30 minutes at 350F.
