Medical shopping
November 10, 2010
It is so frustrating dealing with patients and families who seem to think that medical care is like shopping for shoes. People really need to understand that I’m trying to help them, and if I’m recommending a test, then it’s something that is necessary for me to be able to care for them. It’s not just icing on the cake, it’s dinner! “We’ve decided that we no longer want this test” really isn’t appropriate sometimes! UGH!!! This isn’t cosmetic surgery, people!!!
